Jessica Horwitz, MSN, FNP-BC, AQH

Nurse Practitioner, Headache Medicine Specialist

Jessica Horwitz is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in migraine and complex headache disorders. She is known for combining clinical precision with a deeply attentive, patient-centered approach - helping patients feel understood while delivering structured, effective treatment plans.

She joined Synergy Integrative Headache Center in 2026, bringing nearly a decade of dedicated experience in headache medicine.

Specialized Experience in Headache Medicine

Jessica’s background is uniquely focused. She spent nine years at the renowned Diamond Headache Clinic in Chicago, where she trained in both inpatient and outpatient headache care.

She began her career as a registered nurse on the inpatient headache unit, caring for patients with severe, treatment-resistant conditions, before advancing into a provider role. This dual experience allows her to approach each case with both clinical depth and practical insight into what truly helps patients improve.

She holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Headache Medicine (AQH) from the National Headache Foundation - an advanced distinction held by a select group of clinicians with focused expertise in this field.

Structured, Precise, and Thoughtful Care

Jessica specializes in evidence-based and procedural treatments for headache disorders, including:

  • Botox® for chronic migraine and cervical dystonia

  • Peripheral nerve blocks (occipital and supraorbital)

  • Sphenopalatine ganglion (SPG) blocks

She approaches each patient with a clear framework: understand the full picture, establish an accurate diagnosis, and implement a targeted, step-by-step treatment plan.

Her goal is not just symptom relief - but consistent, measurable improvement.

A Perspective That Patients Value

As someone who also lives with migraine, Jessica brings a level of insight and empathy that patients immediately recognize. She understands both the clinical complexity and the day-to-day impact of headache disorders.

Patients often describe her as:

  • Attentive and easy to talk to

  • Highly knowledgeable and organized

  • Thorough in both evaluation and follow-through

She takes the time to listen carefully, explain clearly, and ensure that each patient leaves with a plan they understand and feel confident in.

Rooted in the Community

Raised in the Chicago suburbs, Jessica is proud to care for patients in the community she calls home.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, followed by both her Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing from Olivet Nazarene University.

Beyond the Clinic

Outside of work, Jessica enjoys baking, spending time with her husband and two children, and caring for her poodle-mix dogs.

What Patients Notice First

When you meet Jessica, you’ll notice:

She listens without interrupting.

She organizes complex symptoms into a clear plan.

And she stays closely involved to make sure you’re actually improving - not just trying the next medication.
